It's almost the end of the school year. Soon it will be summer! Two months when Halifax is at it's best. The weather is finally warm. The lakes begin to warm up for swimming. There are many festivals and activities to take part in. If this is your first summer in Halifax, here are some activities that I recommend!
Ferry Boat to Alderney Landing For $2.50 you can cross the harbour and back! Start at the Halifax Ferry Terminal, pay $2.50 and make sure to get your transfer coupon. After you board the ferry, look for a seat up on the roof. Perhaps you will see the beluga whale that has been spotted in the harbour. For more information click here. Swimming at Chocolate Lake There may be a crowd of people, but that's because its the closest place to swim in a lake. A sand beach and incredibly clear water makes Chocolate Lake a great destination. Take the bus (#20 or #19) or bike. There is a lifeguard on duty. Crystal Crescent Beach Head out to a white sand beach at Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park. Bring a picnic and an umbrella or tent and stay for the whole day. You'll have to drive, though bus #402 does get close. Please respond with your plans for the summer! I hope that you have found some good resources here!
Over the summer, set up a time everyday when you can use some of these resources. Comment below to tell me how you are doing! |
